Develop and manage Lightwave Product business opportunities for Sumitomo Electric Device Innovations USA (SEDU) and its affiliates within the Sumitomo Electric Device Innovations Inc. group of companies.
As part of the Lightwave Product Sales organization this position will be responsible for expanding business with new and current LW customers, while building strong relationships between both the Customer's and SEDU's senior management. Will develop and execute business plans for account penetration and increase market share at targeted accounts. Coordinate intra-company activities with SEDU's Product Marketing and/or directly with the Factory at Sumitomo Electric Device Innovations Inc., as necessary for the implementation and successful execution of account/business strategy as well as new sales techniques/processes for more effective sales team operation.
Provide senior level account management and overall accountability for assigned sales territories through direct sales and external Sales Representative organization. Will strategically build, manage and maintain communication channels between customers and SEDU in order to obtain product orders while maintaining customer relations and resolving sales issues, with the assistance of the Lightwave sales organization. Interface on a regular basis with strategic account senior management at various design centers for the purpose of discussing and establishing strategic direction for the“design in” of SEDU. Communicate future strategic account technology requirements to the Company’s Marketing and Sales organizations, and assist in transitioning programs to volume orders. Responsibilities include generation of written sales plans for achieving quotas, including new account penetration and achieving major order opportunities. Will prepare required sales forecasting and order reports and operate to approve budget requirements.
Opto Electron device sales management experience required.
BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent with MBA preferred, 5 to 10+ years experience,
Proficient computer skills, with excellent written and oral communication skills required. MBA preferred. Position located in San Jose, California, however open to consideration on current place of residence of final candidate in the USA.
Travel to account locations as required by customer growth opportunities, along with periodic travel to Japan for interaction with Sumitomo Electric Device Innovations Inc. management.
Additional Salary Information: Car Allowance provided, along with a regional Sales incentive plan in addition to base compensation.
