Design III-V semiconductor laser diodes. Develop and implement new or existing process for InP based lasers
Drives the complete manufacturing process of laser diodes, including wafer processing, packaging, and test
Conducts detailed characterization and failure analysis of lasers at all stages of development to drive continuous improvement efforts
Manage the associated resources
Plans designs of experiments to optimize laser diode structures based on laser device modeling and detailed analysis of experimental data
MSc or Ph. D. degree (preferred) in Physics, Material Science, or Electronic Engineering, or related field in optoelectronics
Good understanding of III-V semiconductor lasers
5 years of industrial experience in advanced III/V semiconductor laser development
Strong analytical and problem solving ability. Appreciation of both practical and theoretical methodologies.
Experience in the area of semiconductor laser diode fabrication in a cleanroom environment.
Demonstrated recent experience in independently fabricating diode lasers using a variety of dry etching tools such as PECVD and RIE, dielectric and metal deposition tools such as e-beam evaporation, and various other cleanroom etching and metrology tools.
Working knowledge of test and evaluation protocols for diode laser.
A self-motivated person with a desire to create and apply new technology to practical outcomes
Self- motivated and strong team player with good communications skills
