Intel is seeking highly qualified candidates to join our Data Center Group (DCG) team as a Silicon Photonic Device Test Engineer!
Intel's Silicon Photonics Product Division (SPPD) is seeking an experienced test engineer to characterize and validate performance of silicon-based active and passive photonic devices for transmitter chain. You will be part of the photonics component development team and own device testing at the die-level, wafer-level, and subsystem level.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Work with cross-functional teams to define DC and high speed EVT/DVT test plans.
- Develop and qualify test infrastructure and automated test software.
- Execute/drive engineering DOE, EVT and DVT, and debug.
- Analyze test data, generate EVT/DVT report, hold reviews with related stakeholders, and make recommendations.

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Minimum Required Qualifications: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent with 3+ years of industry experience, or a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent with related industry experience. - 3 plus years of experience in optical and electrical characterization of photonic devices like lasers, photodetectors, modulators, at the die-level, wafer-level, or module level. - 3 plus years of hands-on experience with high speed NRZ/PAM4/coherent modulation testing, test fixture design and test station setup. - 3 plus years of experience and good understanding of semiconductor device physics, fiber optics, and physical optics. - 2 plus years of experience and excellent automated test programming skills with Matlab, C#, Visual Basic, Labview, etc. Additional Preferred Qualifications: - 2 plus years of experience in database querying, statistical data analysis and visualization. - Posses good time management and project planning skills. - Be self-motivated and have strong desire to succeed in a fast-paced and challenging environment. - Posses excellent written and verbal communications.
