Position Overview: Molex, LLC is a leading provider of optical communication components, intelligent modules and subsystems. We are currently looking for a Business Development Manager - Optical Solutions to join our team. In this role the BDM will manage profitable sales growth at global accounts, major accounts, and/or in an assigned territory. This position will report directly to the VP of Sales.
Form and execute a sales strategy to achieve sustainable, profitable revenue growth
Identify, screen, pursue and track new sales opportunities while growing existing business
Lead and manage price/share negotiations, pricing roadmaps and maintain favorable share position
Manage day-to-day sales activities such as quotations, booking, shipments and inventory
Provide periodic forecasts through forecasting system in a timely and accurate manner
Establish and maintain all levels of relationships with customers to deliver Oplink’s value proposition and enhance Oplink’s position
Willing to travel at least 25% of time both domestically and internationally
Bachelor’s Degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
5+ years experience in sales development/management in optical component market
5+ years experience with fiber optic component, module and system knowledge
MBA or advanced technical degree is a plus
Skills and Abilities
Strong interpersonal, presenting and negotiating skills
Sound written communications (emails, proposals, PowerPoint slides) and verbal communications skills (making presentations, conference calls).
Proven to be a self-starter, team-player and result driven
Solid analytical skills in deciphering marketing and finance data to effectively unlock customer’s value and make data-driven sales proposals
Proficient with Microsoft Office software such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word and etc.
Previous sales, technical marketing and/or product line management experience, preferably in Telecom, MSO, Datacom or optics industry
General fiber optic component, module and system knowledge required
