OFS is seeking a Solutions Engineer that will work closely with customers to learn their latent and stated pain points, configure a customer valued solution, and support sales to position the solution to generate incremental profitable revenue for OFS. The applications supported will be Metro and FTTx including MDUs, FTTH, FTTB, 4G/5G wireless fronthaul and backhaul, and may be supported by combinations of OFS optical fiber, cable, connectivity, or fusion splicers..
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Working closely will customers to understand their needs.
Submitting solution concepts and/or product descriptions, requirements, projected revenue, and competitive alternatives to Product Management for New Product Development.
Creating value proposition messages and sales tools including PowerPoint presentations, webinars, videos, configurators, white papers, and external publications to compel customers to buy OFS solutions and/or products.
Training and supporting the sales team to effectively deliver solution and product value propositions and to generate incremental profitable revenue.
BS in engineering, physics, or equivalent experience.
Demonstrate outstanding written, oral communications and interpersonal/teamwork skills.
Demonstrate effective technical writing skills.
Experience preparing and confidently delivering clear, concise, and fluid presentations to an audience while effectively driving a favorable outcome.
Ability to manage and adjust to multiple changing priorities while meeting commitments on time with high quality.
Aptitude and interest in teaching and training.
Proficient speaker and writer of English.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel, Expert with MS-PowerPoint.
BS or MS in Business or Marketing.
Understanding of optical fiber communications architectures, technologies, and systems, for FTTx, 5G and 4G wireless fronthaul, backhaul, Metro, and Long Haul applications.
Experience in applications engineering, product management, or development of FTTx and wireless networks including 5G, LTE, and microwave systems.
Experience in successfully developing, creating, or marketing technology based solutions serving optical communications markets.
Aptitude and interest in configuring and/or designing fiber optic cabling and connectivity systems and products optimized to meet a customer’s requirements better than the competition.
Experience creating compelling technical marketing collateral including PowerPoint presentations, white papers, videos, configurators, comparisons, and trade articles, resulting in increased sales revenue and business development.
Proficient with CAD or equivalent design program(s).
