The Electronic Photonic Test Engineer is responsible for providing high quality, repeatable, dependable, and timely test and characterization of photonics components, circuits, and assemblies. Testing will include collecting data from fabricated devices for the modeling/design team; qualifying processes and process modules for the fab team, troubleshooting customer circuits/hardware, verifying established PDK components, as well as experimental research and development of next generation structures and designs. The candidate should be familiar with testing silicon photonic chips and wafers in manual, semi-automatic, and fully automatic modes. This position will include simple optical-only tests up to complex high-speed (RF) electro-optical characterization is required. The Test Engineer should be comfortable with scientific programming and lab automation (Python, MATLAB, LabView or similar). It is expected that this position will need to balance and prioritize multiple demanding projects, as well as work closely with the test and characterization engineers in Albany and the Test, Assembly and Packaging (TAP) facility in Rochester, NY.

You must possess a minimum of:
A PhD in Electrical Engineering, Optics/Photonics or related field from college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization, with 0-2 years of experience in electro-optical high speed testing; OR
A Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Optics/Photonics or related field from college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization, with 3-5 years of experience in electro-optical high speed testing; OR
A Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Optics/Photonics or related field from college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization, with 6-10 years of experience in electro-optical high speed testing.
