PIC Test Software Engineer
Location: Sunnyvale, CA
The Infinera Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) Test team is responsible for electrical and optical testing of fully integrated InP transceiver PICs at wafer, die and subassembly level. Our team has a decisive role providing feedback for PIC design, evaluating DC and RF performance, as well as testing and screening of all PIC production. The complexity of our PICs is mirrored in the complexity of our test software. We are looking for individual with broad software skills for developing and maintaining test software and a talent for test automation.
Responsibilities
Working as part of the PIC Test engineer team, providing software solutions for the electrical and optical testing of PICs, from early research, development and prototype evaluation to production level testing and screening:
Leadership in creating and improving PIC test SW architecture / infrastructure
Mentorship/guidance for less SW experienced engineers or new hires in their work with the existing code base
Test station automation and control SW support (e.g. machine vision system, electrical/optical probe positioning and calibration)
SW migration between platforms (LabVIEW, Python, MatLab, C)
Production test software support (test SW build infrastructure, SW version control)
Production maintenance SW tools (e.g. HW/SW debug tools)
Firmware maintenance/upgrades for optoelectronic equipment
Test data base SW support (Oracle, SQL)
Knowledge / Skills /Abilities
We are looking for an individual with a background in applied computer sciences and test software development:
Programming experience in Matlab, C, C++, Python, LabVIEW, VB.net or similar
Experience in lab automation (motion, vision, test equipment control, data acquisition)
Familiarity with object-oriented programming principles, data structures and common design patterns
Experience in signal analysis and processing is a plus
Experience with software version control and multi-user developer environment is a plus
Ability to build, maintain and troubleshoot complex test software in a cross-functional environment
Attention to detail and willingness to produce detailed documentation
Ability to work well in cross-functional development teams, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills
Education / Experience
Master’s Degree or higher in Computer Science or Electrical/Electronics Engineering, with minimum of 3 years of applicable graduate-level and/or industrial experience in semiconductor industry.
